Hi, Everyone,
What have you been up to? I have a little secret, a heads up. I have been working on classes to launch on an online platform so my ESL learners and Trainers can study at their own pace. I can’t wait to tell you more about it soon 🙂
Autumn is upon us. The air is crisp and its moving into winter possibly depending on your hemisphere. For all though the holidays are around the corner. How does this feel to you? In the United States Thanksgiving is this week and then….as many people have come to know Black Friday. A day of bargains perhaps and shopping frenzy. Has your country adopted this? Its insanity and something to try but only once in a lifetime lol This seems to be the official Christmas holiday kickoff.
So as I am here to share and explore cultures and the above mentioned is very American. I have been fortunate to travel to other countries during the holiday season and it seems more relaxed, more family oriented and not so commercialized. I enjoyed walking the Christmas markets in London, in Dublin, and in Paris, and even down south in Panama. The sites, the aroma, the lights. Its a great experience. I’m not a big into Christmas but I do love family gatherings and any opportunity to spoil my granddaughter and a time to share some traditions and stories with her. But lets hit the brakes on this and lets take the season slow. Enjoy your family time and enjoy the change of the seasons.
When seasons change life seems to change as well. It becomes a cultural thing. Here in New York where I am from its time for sweaters and boots. Its a time for calm. Great jazz music and a great bowl of homemade stew, chowders, & chili. Its a time to gather with family and friends. Perhaps its a game night with a great bottle for mulled wine or just a time to relax by the fire with a great book.
What are some of the ways you enjoy this time of year? What are your traditions?
Until next time….
