Mark Twains credit to Buffalo

by Renee Asenguah

Hey history buffs and lovers of the classic Mark Twain books did you know about his days in the queen city? Yes, Buffalo NY. 1869 was a time of great success for Twain and his new bride. He was an investor and writer for the Buffalo Express along

with his books. He had a prominent home here as well. A mansion on Delaware Ave. Unfortunately there was a fire at the home in the 1960s and it is no longer. The Erie county public library, Downtown Buffalo has dedicated a room to his collections and well worth a visit. And there is no charge. A definite stop before you head to Niagara Falls. One of the many great finds you can explore when you travel as a local and make Buffalo a destination before heading to the Falls.
