Set in traditional times from centuries ago you will find Diyarbakir. A special region in Turkey who embraces Ottoman times. My former Turkish student Merve is here to tell me about it. While on her visit her she relaxed with a special cup of Dibek coffee. Dibek coffee is a special coffee central to Diyarbakir Turkey. Coffee is made in a tradition to the region. It was developed centuries ago and the health benefits were in mind. In addition to coffee there is 8 other ingredients to include herbs that is believed to help with gallstone issues, parkinsons, & other health problems. The roasted coffee beans are crushed with special stones then ground in a mortar. It is delicious and a true experience that is appreciated by the locals. When you find yourself in Diyarbakir please enjoy a cup and embrace the history. Compare as you travel the regions. Enjoy your journey and check back soon to see where my next post is visiting.
