Alt for Norge

Utopia comes to mind when you meet Norway. Miles of wilderness & small islands, endless tranquility. Summer in the land of the midnight sun. Winter and the northern lights. It is said there is 50,000 islands and 83,000 Km in coastline. Its an endless paradise.

Norway was voted #3 for the happiest place on earth. It holds the top spot regularly in the world index. I can see why as I have had the pleasure of hosting a student in my home for about a year and have been welcomed into their home and had an amazing visit as a local in Norway.  The people are very pleasant and very welcoming. Their economy is tremendous, their workforce is a strong supporter in equality, a great health care system, and an outstanding social system that includes education for all. The educational system is said to be the best in Europe. Travel as a local and explore the culture, feel the sights and sounds of the islands. Pop into a local diner and enjoy a meal.

No worries about speaking the language. Most Norwegians are comfortable in English as they are taught from first grade and are expected to be able to handle both languages soon after. TV shows are not dubbed. There are always English subtitles so this aides in their learning process and of course is great for the tourist.  You will find many global companies have offices and English is included and conducted for business.

I hope I have inspired you to travel to this great place once it is safe. You can fly into Oslo and plan your adventure and don’t forget to travel as a local.

Is Norway the country that gives free tuition to universities? I thought I had heard that they did. Is this true? If so, what are the qualifications?

Great question. Yes, Norway does give free tuition to its residents as well as EU citizens and at the moment the UK is included. In addition to free tuition the students are compensated monetarily for going to school.
Great idea to having a strong educated society.
