Travel like a local in Austria
Austria may be well known for its rich history of Mozart, Schubert, and Strauss but lets not give the stunning landscapes amiss and and the fast developing city of Vienna a node. Thanks to English as a global language we all are able to immerse in the culture and history and partake in a city on the move to be an international player.
Most Austrians know two or three languages and some even four languages. Depending on the region as it borders Germany, Italy, & a neighbor to France. Many will find comfort with English as well.
Are you ready for some skiing or to relax by a cozy fire resort side, Austrian ski resorts are very popular, not just for skiing but the breathtaking landscapes. High up in the Alps straddling Switzerland and Italy Zermett is one of these villages you can travel like a local. Zermett is at the foot of the Matterhorn. English will get you by but the locals always appreciate a friendly “guten tag, or danke, or perhaps you want to try your Italian lingo of Buon giorno or gracie” ( a true cultural immersion). Its a welcoming way to open doors to local hospitality.
Another gem in Austria, that’s really worth visiting, and an adventure off the beaten path, is Innsbruck, the royal Ambras Castle. A 16th century castle about 1900 feet above sea level rich in culture and history. Another true Austrian experience.
Perhaps you are here for business. As I mentioned Vienna is developing at a fast pace to be an international player and there are many opportunities.
Enjoy your time while in the land of Mozart, Schubert, and Strauss and I hope you will add somewhere like Zermett or Innsbruck to your cultural immersion of Austria.
Thanks SheGo for the adventure. Lets travel like a local and explore Austria.
